Malcolm is a very affectionate, friendly, male cat, somewhere between 4-8 years old. He showed up on our porch one cold night, very hungry and meowing loudly. We took him to the vet, and gave him medicine and TLC until he got better. Malcolm is FIV positive, and except for tender gums he is a strong ~12 pound cat. He loves to be pet and rubbed, especially under his chin and on his back above his tail, and purrs like a motor! He will lean on you and head-bump you until you pet him!  Malcolm has been neutered and has had a rabies vaccine. He needs a forever home with someone who will keep him inside and share his affection.

Isabella Hi, my name is Isabella.  I"m a 5 month old long haired kitty.  I was living behind a resturant along with my family until someone rescued me.  I have been spayed, vaccinated and tested negative for leukemia/fiv.  I am a super sweet kitty, that loves rolling back and forth on my back to get my belly rubbed.  I LOVE to play with toys and get alot wonderfully with other kitties.  I looking for a forever home.

Pillar, Pierre & Delilah Meet Pillar,  Pierre & their mom Delilah, they are adorable little kitties that need a home. The have the cutest little freckles on their noses and look like they have eyeliner on. Their mom is polydacytl.  They were found out on the street and are so sweet. They are already vaccinated for distemper, treated for fleas & earmites and will be spayed/neutered shortly.

Eve Hi, my name is Eve. I was found one evening wandering the parking lot of a vet hospital. Thankfully, one of the workers brought me inside to safety out of the harsh elements. It was so cold outside. I an a very sweet and friendly cat that loves to be petted. I am up to date on vaccines, feline leukemia and FIV tested negative. Bailey & Sambucca are 4 year old neutered boys.  They are very sweet, loving and in perfect health.  Bailey is the short hair kitty and Sambuca is the medium hair. They are up to date on their vaccines, leukemia/fiv negative, they are front declawed and neutered.  They are completely litter trained and have been strictly indoor kitties their entire life.  They are both playful & loving and looking for a new forever home together.  Bailey & Sambuca are very people oreinted cats.  They crave attention and just really want someone to love them.  They get along great with kids.  Please contact us today if you can save them from being brought to the shelter.

TB is just sweet as pie.  He luvs tummy rubs and will roll over everytime.  He is gentle and licks your hand when you rub his belly.  He is a tad bit shy and needs to come out of his shell.  Once he gets to meet you, he will.  He's not a fan of being picked up, but likes to sit on your lap for pettins.  Please give this little loverboy a chance at a forever home.

D.K. is guessed to be approx. 1 year old.  He is a Neutered Male, Domestic Short Hair, All Black in color with Green eyes I believe.  He appears to be friendly and enjoys being pet and held.  We have not tested him with other cats/dogs, however he hasn't been hissing at the other cats in the cat kennel.  He has been vaccinated for distemper and rabies. Sadly, he tested Positive for FELINE LEUKEMIA.  He was Negative for Feline AIDS.  He has all of his claws.  He weighs 8.8 pounds.

Mr. Gray Hi, my name is Mr. Gray.  I was found wandering the streets of Philadelphia, until I found this really big building called Home Depot with a really nice girl that worked there.  I followed her around all day until she got in trouble and put me in her car until she got done work.  I was purrfectly content waiting for her to finish work and praying that she'd adopt me.  Sadly though, she has 3 big dogs (that I dont mind) and 3 other cats (also that I don't mind) and can not keep a 7th animal:-(  I'm all bummed out about it, but trying to look at the bright side of things and hoping they will find me a new forever home.  Is that home yours?  I sure hope so as I don't know how long the nice girl can keep me.  I'm already neutered and ready to go.  Please contact SWRO today!

Pike Hi, my name is Pike.  Sadly, I was tossed out of my house by my owner because I was scratching her furniture.  She put me out on a very busy street and I almost got killed.  Luckily for me though, I was at the right place at the right time because these kind people witnessed it and brought me into safety.  The worse part about it all is I was just trying to give my owner a hint that my claws were getting so long that they were curling under and almost hitting my pads of my feet.  Since I can't talk, I figured If I showed her my claws needed some trimming, that she'd get them done for me.  My owner was real neglectful.  She never had me neutered or vaccinated.  Luckily though, my new foster mom took me to the vet and got me neutered, vaccinated for rabies & distemper and  leukemia/fiv tested, for which I'm negative.   I am a super lovable cat that gets along great with other cats and dogs.  Please give me a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Nellie Poor Nellie has been in foster care for over a year now. She was orginally rescued off the streets of Philadelphia where she was skin & bones and starving to death. She has since been living in foster care with the founder of SWRO. But sadly, everyone wants kittens and no one is giving Nellie a chance to show her purrsonality. Nellie is so sweet! She will jump on your lap and purr and knead until you fall asleep;-) She is very affectionate. Nellie co-exists with another adult cat and they are fine together. They each do their own thing. Neither are aggressive. Nellie would be happiest being the only cat or maybe just one other non-aggressive cat. Nellie was a little nervous around a dog, but if introduced properly she would do fine. Polly Anna Polly Anna is about 5 months old, a teenager kitty looking for a home safe indoors. A volunteer came across Polly's colony while driving to work which consists of her mom, pop and 4 littermates. All gorgeous cats and most of them polydactyl (meaning extra toes). Asher Meet poor little Asher! He is so handsome and friendly. His owners decided they didn't want him anymore and put him out on the street. Thankfully, one of the neighbors who is an animal lover has been feeding him. Sadly though, she is highly allergic to cats and can not bring him inside. However, she asked me if I could help her find placement for Asher and that she would pay to have him examined by a vet, vaccinated and leukemia/fiv tested prior to going into his forever home. Jamie is a 1.5 year old calico -- really sweet, follows you all around.  very smart kitty.  gets along well with other cats/dogs.  She was dumped by her owner when she got pregnant and had her first and only litter of kittens, then she was adopted from a juvenile delinquent girl who abused her.

Barron is an FIV positive kitty with no teeth:-(  So he can't bite a kitty and transfer the FIV virus, not that he would because he is extremely gentle and such a nice kitty.  Barron has made a considerable turn around since he was first rescued.  We thought for sure he was 100% feral, but he's not.  He's just a nice kitty who was very scared when we first trapped him in the havahart trap.  Barron had an eye disorder called Entropion, but it has since been surgically repaired and his eyes are doing wonderful.  Barron is looking for a home that can give him all the loving he wants and deserves.  He loves to be petted and rubbed under his chin.  He'll stretch his neck out so far so you don't miss a spot.  Please contact us today if you are interested in taking Barron in as part of your family.

Oreo is an adorable 3 month old male kitten. He has a soft white coat with black tail, ears, chin and some little spots on his back. He was saved from living on the streets of Philly. Shiloh Meet Shiloh!  She is super sweet & very adorable!  Poor little Shiloh was dumped at a horse stable in Philadelphia with her 4 littermates.  The neighbors adopted all of her littermates, but left Shiloh behind to fend for herself.  I still can't figure out why someone didn't have it in their heart to bring her home.  She is very affectionate & gentle.  She is 4 months old looking for a forever home.  Is that home yours?  If so, contact us today.

If you are interested in adopting one of our kitties, please fill out the adoption application online or call/e-mail us and request that one be sent to you either by mail or fax. Saved Whiskers Rescue Organization, Inc. prides itself on quality adoptions and works hard to create the perfect person/pet match. Our adoption policies are strict, but our 100% return policy requires us to make the right match from the start. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

ADOPTION PROCESS

1. Once you have chosen the cat that you would like to adopt, please take some time to fill out the required adoption application either on-line or by calling us to receive an application by mail or fax. Please answer all questions honestly. Prospective cat adopters are encouraged to visit the kitty of interest to get an idea of how they interact. We suggest you give it a day or so to think about the decision of adoption. This is a big step for both you and the kitty.

2. Once S.W.R.O. receives your application, it will be reviewed and references will be checked. It may take a couple of days from the time you complete your adoption application until your new kitty can come home. The length of time can depend on how easy it is to reach veterinary and other references. If you rent your home, we will need some evidence that cats are permitted where you live, and that there are no limitations on cat ownership that would conflict with our adoption policies.

3. Once your application is approved, we will set up an appointment either to bring the cat to your home or meet you at a convenient place to complete the adoption process. In order to complete the adoption process an adoption agreement needs to be read, agreed to and signed by the person responsible for the adopted pet and our modest adoption fee must be paid. Veterinary records are provided as part of the adoption process. You will need a cat carrier to safely transport the cat at all times.

4. If you are approved for an adoption, we will ask that you purchase the same type of food that the cat has been eating. If you wish to feed the cat a different type of food later on, you will need to transition to the new food over a 10 day period otherwise the cat may experience gastrointestinal upsets. We do recommend using a premium food for all cats and kittens-good nutrition helps maintain the cat's health, coat, and teeth over its lifetime. Premium food is especially important for preventing urinary tract infections that can cause a cat a great deal of pain and even death.

ALL CATS ADOPTED FROM S.W.R.O. COME WITH A 100% RETURN POLICY FOR THE LIFE OF THE CAT ADOPTED (we don't care if it is 5 or 10 years down the line). S.W.R.O PREFERS THAT THE CAT COME BACK TO OUR ORGANIZATION RATHER THAN ENDING UP IN A SHELTER OR FOISTED OFF ON TO SOMEONE ELSE.

The animals available for adoption from S.W.R.O. come from a variety of sources. All our animals are examined and treated by a licensed veterinarian and their health is continually monitored while under our care. Our adoption fee includes all age-approprate vaccines, examinations, deworming, feline leukemia/FIV testing, microchip and nail trims.

If necessary, treatment for fleas, ticks and ear mites will also be done. All these necessary treatments that are done would cost you much more if your vet were to do them for you. All cats wil be spayed or neutered prior to adoption unless the kitten is under 4 months of age. The adoption fee also helps to cover the expense of food and litter while the cat is in our foster care.

S.W.R.O. is a not-for-profit organization. All fees go directly towards the care of cats rescued by S.W.R.O. Please remember that S.W.R.O. reserves the right to approve or deny any application. No animal will be adopted to prospective owners who mislead and/or fail to provide accuarate information on the adoption application.
